Apps That Every PR Pro Needs

As PR professionals we need to stay up to date on everything that’s happening around us, but we always happen to be on our feet, going from meetings, interviews and events in order to help our clients accomplish their goals. For people who are always on the go, we tend to become more reliant on our phones and we need them in order to become rock stars seamlessly stay organized and on track with our daily responsibilities. Below are a few amazing apps that you should integrate into your routine if you haven’t already.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar is one of the best organizational tools out there. This app can also be integrated to mobile where you can quickly add events by typing Standard English phrases. There is also a feature that helps you color code and block out certain parts of the day to tasks. Another great feature for this app is that you can share your calendar with people in the office, or with your clients. For example if your team creates and shares Google calendars with each other, you can ensure that everyone is on task, knows each other deadlines and daily schedule to create cohesiveness for everyone.

We all know that photos perform well on social media. People love having an amazing picture accompanying your messages and are more likely to click and interact with your posts if the photos are appealing.  Download this free app to quickly rotate, crop, adjust colors and add affects on your photos before placing them on social media.

Pulse

Powered by LinkedIn Pulse is an app that puts all of your magazines, social networks and newspapers in one place for free. Pulse also integrates articles written by industry professionals that are published just on Pulse, therefore you’re getting exclusive articles and news. Reading these articles regularly will keep you on top of your game. As a PR professional, you can also write and share stories on Pulse and position yourself an industry leader and expert.

Flipboard

Similar to Pulse, Flipboard allows you to organize news This app can help you track industry news and stay on trend, which in turns helps you create and provide timely messaging to your audience members. You can flip through different news and blog articles based on different interest and topics sometimes exposing you to little-known publications that have a wealth of information.

Evernote

As PR professionals it is our jobs to think creatively for our clients or organizations and come up with amazing tactics to meet our objectives. This app allows you to write down all of your amazing ideas; this app can also be synced with your desktop, tablet and any other device, so you can pick up your note writing wherever you left off on a different device without missing a beat.
